Code of Virginia 8.01-576.10: Confidentiality of dispute resolution proceeding

Under this law, "all memoranda, work products, and other materials contained in the case files of a neutral or dispute resolution program are confidential." In addition, it makes confidential any communication made in connection with the dispute resolution proceeding, from screening onward. An exception to this is made when the dispute involves support of the minor children of the parties. In this case, financial information must be disclosed to each party and the court "for the purpose of computing a basic child support amount ... ."
