Victim Youth Conferencing Evaluation Report

Blevins, PhD, Jennifer; Office of Dispute Resolution Administrative Office of the Courts Nebraska Judicial Branch. Jun. 1, 2018
https://supremecourt.nebraska.gov/sites/default/files/odr/VYC_Eval_Report_2017-2018_11.4.18.pdf

This is an evaluation of Nebraska's statewide victim youth confrencing program which launched as a pilot in March 2015 and was expandeded statewide in January 2018. The services for the program are provided by the Nebraska Office of Dispute Resolution and referrals to the program come in three stages: pre-court referrals from the County Attorney's pffice after a school-based incident, court diversion referrals from the County Attorney and Courts pre-adjudication, and referrals from the court post-adjudication.

This evaluation of the victim youth conferenecing program looked at the program's goals to determine whether they were being met, as well as other aspects of the program, including who was served by the program and how the process was working in each of the centers providing the services. Ultimately, the evaluation found that the program has been successful at promoting participant satisfaction, attaining reparations agreements and ensuring youth fulfillment of those agreements.
