Under this program, the court may appoint volunteer, pro bono attorneys to represent pro se litigants in settlement conferences. The attorneys assist their clients in preparing for settlement conferences, represent their clients at settlement conferences, and assist in drafting agreements when appropriate. The volunteer attorneys are from member law firms of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
