Superior Court of the District of Columbia Civil Arbitration Program Rules

Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Oct. 1, 1998
https://www.dccourts.gov/sites/default/files/2018-03/Civil%20Arbitration%20Rules%2012-12.pdf

Under these rules, all civil cases are eligible for assignment to the civil arbitration program, with some listed exceptions. The judge may assign a case to arbitration at any time, though a party may motion for removal from the program for good cause shown. The rules outline arbitrator qualifications and the assignment process, as well as discussing compensation, powers and authority of the arbitrators, discovery, filing of an award and judgment, and conducting a trial de novo. The rules also outline procedures for conducting the arbitration hearing itself, including scheduling, attendance requirements, continuances, failure to appear, admissibility of evidence, and payment of witness fees.
