This rule outlines procedure for maintaining a complementary dispute resolution program. It provides separate referral procedures for mediation of civil, probate, and general equity matters, custody and parenting time actions, and municipal court actions. The rule also outlines procedures for selection of mediators, stays of discovery, and procedure during and after mediation. Further, the rule provides requirements regarding compensation, confidentiality, termination of mediation, and qualifications of both mediators and arbitrators.
