This report was produced by the Standards of Conduct Subcommittee of the Mediator Confidentiality and Standards of Conduct Committee, which was established by the Michigan Supreme Court in 2008. The report proposes amendments to the Standards, addressing issues of self-determination, impartiality, conflict of interest, competence and the advancement of mediation as a process, among other topics.
