These nine principles were developed by the CPR-Georgetown Commission on Ethics and Standards of Practice in ADR to "to provide guidance to entities that provide ADR services, consumers of their services, the public, and policy makers." The principles address the following: 1) quality and competence of services; 2) information regarding services and operations; 3) fairness and impartiality; 4) access to services; 5) disclosure of organizational conflicts of interest; 6) complaint and grievance mechanisms; 7) ethical guidelines; 8) false or misleading communications; and 9) confidentiality. Each principle is followed by comment, clarifying the principle's goal and rationale.
