This report provides an overview of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) System in Oklahoma, which is made up of 12 community-based mediation (Early Settlement) centers and 12 mediation programs developed by state agencies. In fiscal year 2009, 6,275 cases were referred to the centers, 2,850 were mediated and 2,015 resulted in full or partial agreements (for a 71 percent settlement rate). This is the highest settlement rate in a five-year period; previously, the highest rate had been 68 percent in 2005. The report outlines state agency programs, training opportunities from 2008 and goals of the ADR System.
