Oklahoma Alternative Dispute Resolution System: 2008 Annual Report

This report provides an overview of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) System in Oklahoma, which is made up of 12 community-based mediation (Early Settlement) centers and 12 mediation programs developed by state agencies. In fiscal year 2008, 5,766 cases were referred to the centers, 2,747 were mediated and 1,751 resulted in a full or partial agreement (64 percent). This is a significant increase from previous years: 2,135 cases were mediated in 2005, 2,303 cases in 2006 and 2,244 in 2007. Settlement rates have fluctuated from 68 percent in 2005 to 64 percent in 2007. The report outlines state agency programs, training opportunities from 2008 and goals of the ADR System.
