Supreme Court of Ohio Training Program Standards for Trainers

These Supreme Court of Ohio has created a variety of training program standards for court ADR trainers. In addition to training and participant applications for approval the standards outlined include: 

Instructions, Obligations, and Responsibilities for the Approval of Required Dispute Resolution Trainings under the Supreme Court Rules of Superintendence for the Courts of Ohio: Outlines the requirements for a training program to be approved, the procedure for applying for approval, and the obligations of applicants and sponsors. 

Training Program Standards - Fundamentals of Mediation: Details the requirements a proposed mediation training program must meet in order to be approved. These standards cover the required time duration of the training, faculty qualifications, training program methodology, and topics to be covered (including safety screening and implicit bias).

Training Program Standards - Specialized Domestic Abuse Issues and Mediation: Details additional program requirements for domestic abuse mediation training issues including instructor qualifications and program topic requirements (such as power and influence, capacity to mediate, dynamics of domestic abuse, safety planning, etc.).

Training Program Standards - Specialized Child Protection Mediation: Outlines additional program requirements for child protection mediation including instructor qualification, topics covered (such as abuse, neglect, dependency, dynamics of abuse, issues affecting parenting plans, etc.).

Training Program Standards - Advanced Mediation Workshop: Details additional program topic requirements including mediator ethics and mediation approaches. 

Parenting Coordination Training Program Standards: Details additional specific program topic requirements such as the parenting coordination process, family dynamics, and high conflict personalities/abuse.
