North Dakota Rules of Court, Rule 8.9, Appendix A: Code of Mediation Ethics

Supreme Court of North Dakota. Mar. 1, 2007
https://www.ndcourts.gov/legal-resources/rules/ndrct/appendix-a-to-rule-8-9

"The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to provide standards of ethical conduct to guide mediators who provide mediation services, to inform and protect consumers of mediation services, and to ensure the integrity of the mediation process." The code specifies that mediators must remain impartial and disclose any conflicts of interest in each case they mediate. It also set guidelines for the confidentiality of communications made during mediation. The code directs mediators to uphold the quality of the mediation process, and to be truthful and upfront about their qualifications, training and fees. The court's process for enforcing the Code of Ethics is outlined in North Dakota Rules of Court, Rule 8.9.
