North Carolina Mediated Settlement Conference Program Caseload Statistics

North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts.
http://www.nccourts.org/Courts/CRS/Councils/DRC/MSC/Statistics.asp

These statistics provide information about the North Carolina Mediated Settlement Conference Program caseloads from 2002 through 2009. With some exceptions, all civil actions filed in North Carolina Superior Courts are referred to mediated settlement conferences. In 2008-2009, 11,303 civil cases were ordered to the program, 107 were submitted voluntarily and 9506 were already pending, for a total of 20,956 cases pending in the program. Of the 6,089 cases that actually went to mediation, 63 percent resulted in either a full or partial agreement (4,096 cases were either removed or were disposed without a session and 10,771 remained pending for the following year).
