This article states that a claimant and health care provider may jointly submit a personal injury or wrongful death dispute to arbitration. Parties select an arbitrator by agreement or, if an agreement cannot be reached, may choose from a list of emergency superior court judges who have agreed to serve as arbitrators. The arbitrator must submit a decision within 14 days of the hearing. The article addresses issues of discovery, time limitations for the process and awards.
