New York Community Dispute Resolution Center Program Manual, Chapter 7: Standards and Requirements for Mediators and Mediation Trainers

New York State Community Dispute Resolution Center. Jul. 1, 2017
http://ww2.nycourts.gov/sites/default/files/document/files/2018-07/Chapter7.pdf

The standards come from the New York Community Dispute Resolution Center ("CDRC") Program Manual. Chapter 7 outlines the standards of conduct and training requirements for individuals training to be CDRC mediators. There is no statewide standard in New York for all mediators. However, individuals who wish to serve as a mediator for CDRC must be certified by CDRC. These standards cover certification requirements, training curriculum guidelines for mediation training generally and for custody and visitation (parenting plan) mediation training, record keeping, and the application process to become a mediator.
