Maine Statute 14-6321-A: Foreclosure Mediation Program

Maine State Legislature. Jan. 1, 2019
http://legislature.maine.gov/statutes/14/title14sec6321-A.html

This statute authorizes the Maine Supreme Judicial Court to adopt rules establishing a Foreclosure Mediation Program for owner-occupied homes. In this program, financial information is kept confidential, except when the information is a part of the foreclosure complaint or 'any answer filed with the court.' The court is also charged with assigning qualified mediators and establishing mediator training programs. The statute also addresses issues of referrals, good faith and mediator reports.
