Jefferson County Mediation Services provides free dispute resolution services for cases referred by agencies, municipalities and the local courts in Jefferson County, Colorado. County residents may also request mediation. The court-related issues that are referred to JCMS include low-income divorce and post-decree issues, as well as small claims disputes. JCMS also provides victim-offender reconciliation services and conferencing services to determine protection order conditions for court-referred cases. JCMS was established in 1994 and is fully funded by Jefferson County. Its website includes a brief history of the program, information about which cases it mediates and how cases are referred, and information about how to volunteer for the program.
