Iowa Code: Title XV, Chapter 679: Informal Dispute Resolution

This chapter states that the Department of Justice's Office of Prosecuting Attorneys Training Coordinator shall establish and support informal dispute resolution programs, which will be administered by the executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys Training Coordination Council. The executive director may appoint an advisory committee with the approval of the council. An entity may apply to the executive director to participate in the program. This chapter addresses funding options, including grants and gifts, referrals to the centers, fees, mediator role and compensation and agreements. The council will adopt rules to carry out the purpose of this chapter the executive director will produce an annual report regarding the operation of the program. The chapter also addresses issues of confidentiality and mediator liability.
