Illinois' 21st Judicial Circuit Local Rules

Illinois 21st Judicial Circuit. Jan. 27, 2015
http://www.co.kankakee.il.us/21stJudicial/pdf/Rules.pdf

The local rules of Illinois' 21st Judicial Circuit serving Iroquois and Kanakee counties.

Part 9. Divorce Mediation Program: Under these rules, all cases filed in Kankakee County involving child custody, visitation and removal may be referred to mediation if the presiding judge determines that it is appropriate. Parties may also choose to mediate other relevant issues, including child support and child-related expenses. The rules address mediator duties, qualifications and ethical guidelines. The rules also outline procedures for referral and conducting mediation sessions, and set confidentiality guidelines for communications made during mediation.

Part 13. Mediation of Civil Cases - Non-Divorce: Under these rules any civil case may be referred by a judge or requested by a party to participate in mediation. The parties are required to pay a fee to participate in the program. The rules cover the mediation process and mediator qualifications.

Administrative Order No. 2013-14: This Administrative Order (found at the end of the local rules) requires that all residential foreclosure mediation cases be referred to mediation. The rules cover pre-conferences and the mediation process.
