Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution: Rules for Mediation in Cases Involving Issues of Domestic Violence

Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution . Jan. 1, 2019
https://godr.org/about-us/rules/

These rules were developed as a collaboration between the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution and the Georiga Commission on Family Violence and focus on updating rules for mediating cases with domestic violence. The modifications to the rules bring the guidelines up-to-date with domestic violence research and ensure that the best practices are being used.

These guidelines were developed with a focus on safety, self-determination, best practices, and practical implementation. These rules outline a process on how to screen for domestic violence, how to contact an at-risk party, provide various survey questions for screening, and outline steps to take after screening.
