This appendix establishes a code of ethical behavior for mediators in court programs in Georgia. These standards focus on three fundamental promises a mediator makes to parties in explaining the process: 1) the mediator will protect the self-determination of the parties; 2) the mediator will protect the confidentiality of the mediation process; 3) the mediator is a neutral who is impartial and is without bias or prejudice toward any party.
