Hon. Judith K. Fitzgerald (ret.). American Bankruptcy Institute Journal , Jan. 1, 2020

Inspired by Arabella Mansfield, the Mansfield Rule is based on the Rodney Rule (adopted by the National Football League in 2003) which requires teams to interview at least one minority or female candidate for every head coaching or general manager position. This article highlights discusses how the concept of the Mansfield Rule has been employed in the legal profession to increase diversity and explores how the Mansfield Rule could be used to improve and increase diversity in the alternative dispute resolution field.
