This rule authorizes the court to direct attorneys and parties to participate in conferences, including settlement conferences, to address matters that may aid in a case's disposition. The rule also authorizes the court to enter an order implementing any settlement agreement reached in such a conference. The rule identifies methods for conducting settlement conferences, who should attend them and who should preside over them.
