Eight Lessons to Consider for ODR Implementation

National Center for State Courts. Jan. 1, 2021
https://www.ncsc.org/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/58016/8-Lessons.pdf

This resource describes eight lessons to consider when implementing a court online dispute resolution ("ODR") program. These eight lessons provide a framework of considerations and questions jurisdictions may want to consider when developing an ODR program. The lessons include (1) understanding what ODR is and isn't, (2) effective judicial and administrative leadership, (3) identify the problems you want ODR to address, (4) integrate ODR with case management and other court technology programs, (5) engaging with stakeholders, (6) remaining faithful to core principles but being flexible as needed, (7) process simplification, and (8) communicating with vendors on goals and expectations.
