Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission Minimum Standards for Mediation Training

Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission. Jan. 1, 2009
https://www.arcourts.gov/administration/adr/rules

These curriculum standards are designed to "help insure consistent, quality training for mediators in Arkansas" (p.1) who are to mediate cases referred by the Arkansas Circuit Courts. Among other qualifications, a mediation trainer must have completed at least 40 hours of coursework as well as 25 mediation sessions and have teaching experience. The standards include course content for a 40-hour training program as well as training content, methodology and administration. If the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission approves the curriculum, a trainer may offer a mediation training for a period of three years, at which time a new application must be submitted.
