Alabama Code: Title 6, Ch. 6., Art. 1, Div. 1: Arbitration and Award

Alabama Legislature. Jan. 1, 2021
http://alisondb.legislature.state.al.us/alison/codeofalabama/1975/coatoc.htm

This code relates to arbitration in civil practice. All Alabama courts have a duty to "encourage the settlement of controversies pending before them" by referring parties to arbitrators chosen by parties or their attorneys. The courts "must make such order and continue the case for award." The section addresses arbitrator selection and duties, witness liability, arbitrator and witness compensation ($2 per day for arbitrators and $1 per day for witnesses), awards and award appeals.
