These protocols are designed to "standardize alternative dispute resolution in civil, commercial and matrimonial cases and parenting issues in Family Court actions" in the 8th Judicial District of New York. The protocols outline the various processes, including arbitration, mediation, settlement conferences and neutral evaluations, and describe which process is used for which case type. The protocols further address issues of neutral rosters, compensation, confidentiality and neutral immunity, among other topics.
