Cathy McCoy

Eviction Mediation Program Assistant

Combined ShapeSend Email

Cathy McCoy joined RSI's staff in August 2025 and is the Eviction Mediation Program Assistant. Cathy is a trained mediator certified by the Center for Conflict Resolution in 2020. Prior to her work in mediation, she was employed by the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program for nearly 20 years as an Advocate Supervisor for the guardian ad litem programs in Illinois' Kane and DuPage counties, representing the interests of minors in the juvenile, abuse/neglect and guardianship courts.

Cathy was fortunate to be able to participate in mediation as a representative of CASA, and later, after retiring from the CASA program, she stepped into the role of mediator in child protection disputes. In late May 2021, she began mediating with RSI in eviction court cases in Kane County. In conjunction with court partners, Cathy also recently developed a court-sponsored program for mediation in conflicts involving guardianship of minors. Cathy has learned a great deal from RSI staff and is excited to join them as part of the team.
