Teresa Napoli

Teresa Napoli is a Partner in the Chicago office of Foley & Lardner LLP. She provides counsel to public and private companies on the full lifecycle of employee benefit and executive compensation arrangements, including representations before government agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. She also advises clients in the negotiation of benefit and compensation matters in corporate transactions.
Teresa is currently serving as the chairperson of the ABA Joint Committee on Employee Benefits and frequently speaks on matters relating to employee benefits and fiduciary governance.
Before joining Foley, Teresa was a partner at Sidley Austin LLP. She has been an invited instructor, teaching Negotiation at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and was a member of the Negotiation Workshop teaching team at Harvard Law School. As a student, Teresa had the opportunity to evaluate a neighborhood multi-door courthouse pilot program in a densely populated metropolitan area in South America. Teresa holds a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. Outside of work, you can find her walking along Chicago’s Lakefront Trail and searching for the city’s best chilaquiles.
